Der Recycler INVEMA hat Ende
2016 in Honduras eine Anlage für
das Recycling von PET Flaschen in
Betrieb genommen, um Bottle-to-
bottle-Qualitäten mit FDA Zulas-
sung herzustellen. Die Anlage ver-
arbeitet in der ersten Ausbaustufe
2000 t/mtl.

The recycling company INVEMA
commissioned a plant for the recy-
cling of PET bottles in Honduras at
the end of 2016 in order to produ-
ce bottle-to-bottle quality with
FDA approval. In the first expansi-
on stage the plant is processing
2000 t/month.

n einem mehrstufigen Prozess werden
die Flaschen zerkleinert, kalt und heiß
gewaschen und nach der Trocknung ei-
ner Flakesortierung zugeführt. Herge-
stellt, montiert und in Betrieb genom-
men wurde die Anlage von dem deut-
schen Maschinenbauer Herbold Meckes-
heim.
Nach der Regranulierung wird das End-
produkt beispielsweise an den lokalen
Coca-Cola Flaschenhersteller verkauft.
Eine zweite Ausbaustufe ist in Vorberei-
tung, damit werden lebensmitteltaugli-
che PET-Tiefziehfolien hergestellt.

Honduras weist bereits eine Recycling-
quote von 84 Prozent auf, dennoch müs-
sen Flaschen importiert werden, um die
Anlage auszulasten.
Der Inhaber von INVEMA, George Gatlin,
erklärt in einem Interview: „ Coca Cola
ist begeistert von der bei uns hergestell-
ten Regranulat-Qualität“.
Die INVEMA Gruppe beschäftigt 370
Mitarbeiter in Honduras und weitere 100
in El Salvador mit der Sammlung, Annah-
me, Sortierung und Aufbereitung der
Flaschen.
In einem zweiten Schritt entstand eine
Anlage zur Aufbereitung der Polyolefin-
fraktion aus dem Recyclingprozess, die
caps und labels der Flaschen.
Ein Teil der für die Aufbereitungsanlagen
erforderlichen Energie wird am eigenen
Standort erzeugt: mit 3.640 Solarpanee-
len auf den Dachflächen der Betriebs-
stätten erzeugt man 1 MW Strom.

flake sorting step. The German machine
manufacturer Herbold Meckesheim pro-
duced, installed and commissioned the
plant.
After regranulation the end product is
sold to the local Coca Cola bottle produ-
cer. A second expansion step is in prepa-
ration. Its aim is to produce thermoform-
ing PET film suitable for use in foodstuffs.
Honduras already has a recycling rate of
84 percent, nevertheless, bottles have to
be imported in order to use the plant to
full capacity.
The owner of INVEMA, George Gatlin,
states in an interview: “Coca Cola is en-
thusiastic about the quality of the regra-
nulate that we produce.”
