Extrusion International 5-2026

40 Extrusion International 5/2026 allowing them to be detached from the process section particularly quickly. This minimizes downtime during recipe changes and increases the OEE (Overall Equip- ment Effectiveness) of the production systems. To fully exploit the performance potential of the ZSK Mc 18 ex- truders, the ZS-B side feeders are equipped with the patented Feed Enhancement Technology (FET). In the feeding zone there is a porous, gas-permeable wall sec- tion to which a vacuum is applied externally. The result of FET technology is a signi cant increase in throughput and improved cost-effectiveness of the compounding system. “We are very proud to support Dongguan Baier Plastic in their expansionwith three additional ZSKMc 18 extrud- ers. We are con dent that the company is ideally posi - tioned for the future with these compounding systems. We wish Dongguan Baier Plastic all the best and look forward to further collaboration,” says Joanne Shen, General Manager Engineering Plastics at Coperion. Thanks to a newly developed universal mounting solution, it can now be seamlessly integrated. The company thus guarantees maximum exibility in the development of new products whose grinding properties cannot be reliably predicted in advance. Seven mill types on a single system periphery As product development often involves switching between different mill types or, for example, integrat- ing a classi er or a classi er mill into the process, the use of several separate systems impairs the ef ciency of the production process and also requires a great deal of space. “Our multi- processing systems have proven to be the ideal solution for these require- ments in practice,” explains Andre Voges, Head of Sales Pharma at Hosokawa Alpine. This is because these mo- bile and extremely exible system concepts integrate different types of mills into a single system periphery. Hosokawa Alpine thus implements different grinding processes on a single platform – exibly, ef ciently and in a space-saving manner, as the required units can be changed quickly and easily. The multi-processing system has so far enabled up to sev- en different mill types to be connected to a single system periphery. With the integra- tion of the UPZ 100 III ne impact mill, Hosokawa Alpine has now expanded the range of applications for the multi-processing sys- tem to include a further option. Hosokawa Alpine’s multi-processing system: by combining different mill and process modules, new products can be developed more quickly and production concepts can be scaled up reliably
