With the CPS-F, BUSS AG launches its new COMPEO pelletizing system to the market. The flange design was specifically developed for integration into the COMPEO kneading technology for cable or performance compounds and can also be integrated into third-party systems.

The CPS-F (COMPEO Pelletizing System) is BUSS's scalable pelletizing platform, developed for demanding compounding processes. With the new CPS-F 200 unit – the first size in the flange-based design – the company introduces a variant that can be directly connected to the COMPEO kneader series. The first size will be presented at K Fair 2025, with additional sizes following from 2026.
The CPS-F is particularly suitable for cable and performance compounds as well as viscous or porous polymers. Thanks to well-designed mechanical interfaces, the unit can be combined not only with BUSS systems but also integrated as an OEM-independent solution into existing compounding lines. An adaptable flange, adjustable discharge height, and easily accessible utility connections for water and electrical supply enable flexible integration – even with limited installation space or subsequent modifications.
Well-Engineered Technology for Process Safety and Quality

The heart of the CPS-F is an exchangeable, segmented die plate with special geometry that compensates for thermal deformation. This keeps cutting quality consistent even under high pressure and temperature – a key aspect for consistent pellet quality.
A rear-mounted drive allows access to the cutting zone without having to open the drive train. This saves time during cleaning and maintenance. A manual rotor brake with release mechanism and viewing windows with optional lighting further enhance operational safety.
Additional features of the CPS-F at a glance:
- Optional screen changer for inline filtration
- Integrated pressure monitoring for process control
- Short material flow paths for clean processing
- Compact, accessible design with clearly defined interfaces
With a throughput range of 80 to 3,500 kg/h, the CPS-F series, comprising four sizes, spans a broad application spectrum, from flexible lines to high-performance production.
Economic Advantages Over Underwater Pelletizing (UWP)
Compared to conventional UWP systems, the CPS-F – and thus the CPS overall – offers significant advantages:
- Up to 50% lower pressure drop → more energy-efficient operation
- 20-25% lower total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Fast, clean access to cutting zone → no separation of transport water or drive train necessary
- Ideal for dual-mode users (switchable between wet and dry operation when needed) → Flexible use in various application product families
Particularly for manufacturers working with changing formulations or materials sensitive to temperature variations, the CPS-F represents a precise, reliable, and economical solution. The combination of clean cutting quality, flexibility, easy handling, and high safety level makes the system the ideal choice – whether for cable compounds, performance compounds, or specialty applications.
