n Zum Jubiläum bietet diese etablierte Veranstaltung über 50
Vorträge in drei Parallelsessions. Diese werden erneut unter
dem Zeichen der Themengebiete „Forschung an Maschine und
Verfahren“, „Leichtbau mit Kunststoffen“ und „Forschung am
Werkstoff“ stehen und sich dabei einer Vielzahl von aktuellen
Themen widmen. Neben den vielen Fachvorträgen werden zu-
dem zwei Plenarvorträge sowie eine Podiumsdiskussion aktuel-
le Herausforderungen für die Kunststoffbranche thematisieren.
Auch in diesem Jahr wird es erneut eine Podiumsdiskussion ge-

großen Anklang stießen. Angesichts der fortschreitenden Digi-
talisierung und Vernetzung von Prozessen und Daten erörtern
Experten das Thema Industrie 4.0 mit seinen Risiken und Chan-
cen – erstmals aus Verarbeitersicht: „Industrie 4.0 – Gläserner
Zulieferer oder glänzende Zukunft?“
Eine weitere Premiere wird es mit der Verleihung des Automoti-
ve Academy Award 2017 geben, mit dem Studierende der
Kunststofftechnik ausgezeichnet werden, die eine hervorragen-
de Masterarbeit mit Bezug zur Automobilanwendungen anfer-
tigten.

n A highlight of the calendar for the plas-
tics industry in France, FIP Solution
FIP Solution Plastique Plastique is eagerly anticipated this year on two counts: not on-
ly will it be bringing together a record number of exhibitors,
with a significant increase in the number of companies from
abroad, but it will also be punctuated throughout with special
events, since FIP Solution Plastique – The Plastics Industry Exhi-
bition in France – will this year be celebrating its 30th anniver-
sary. FIP Solution Plastique 2017 promises to be the big event of
the year for the profession, stamped with this desire to perpe-
tually promote innovation and a vision of the future. Naturally,
it continues to play host to new exhibitors and new technolo-
gies, reflecting the best practices in the plastics industry.
The entire plastics industry, brought together for the occasion
every three years in Lyon, is particularly looking forward to this
edition. Testament to this is the way the trends are pointing,
with an anticipated 25% increase in the exhibition area. 150
companies will be presenting their know-how for the first time
at this year's FIP Solution Plastique.
FIP Solution Plastique 2017 will be no exception to this rule. As
well as the many live demos on the exhibitor stands, there will
be not one but two programmes proposed this year, running in
parallel and free to attend:
• A conference programme addressing topical issues and
featuring speakers who are experts in the sector
• A programme of workshops at which the exhibitors will be
presenting their know-how and innovations in short and
technical formats, for a concrete vision of the latest techno-
logical advances
The subjects treated in the conferences will be based on four
themes: Sustainable Development / Processes / Organisation /
Materials.
Here are just a few examples of conferences: the plastics indu-
stry of tomorrow, nanomaterials, biomaterials, smart composi-
tes, plastronics, Reach 2018, materials purchasing strategies,
energy-saving certificates, making lighter vehicles, the circular
economy, technical innovations in finishing and decorative ele-
ments, etc. Everyone will be able to find in these exchanges the
information that concerns them directly.
