Already last year, the particle characterization device Litesizer DIA 500 received the iF Design Award for its well-thought-out and functional design. This year, two more awards followed.
Julia DSC, an instrument for the thermal analysis of materials, was awarded. The MCR xx3 series also received an award. Products in this series are used, among other things, in the cosmetics industry to measure viscosity.

With these awards, the international, independent jury recognizes the consistent integration of functionality, technical precision, and clear design.
Since 1954, the iF Design award has been one of the world’s most respected distinctions in product design. Evaluation criteria include the degree of innovation, user-friendliness, functionality, and overall design quality.
Clear design language and user focus
A key factor in the judging is the design’s consistent focus on practical application, with key elements including an intuitive operating structure, clearly guided workflows, and a reduced, functional design language.
Technical performance and ease of use are not treated as opposing goals but rather form an integral part of product development.
Modular concept
Another essential aspect is the modular concept, which allows even complex laboratory workflows to be covered. The instruments can be adapted to different requirements. This approach supports long-term usability and scalability. The combination of a flexible design, ease of use, and high manufacturing quality stood out in international comparison.
A cross-functional team effort
The award is the result of close collaboration between research and development, industrial design, software development, production, quality management, as well as marketing and sales.
