The Plastic is Fantastic Association (PiFA) is intensifying its engagement in Asia, strengthening its position as an international platform for fact-based dialogue about plastics. Sandy Lin will take on the role of Cluster Director and will be responsible for the strategic development of the region. In this new structure, the Association will present itself for the first time at CHINAPLAS 2026 in Shanghai.
By establishing a structural presence in Asia, PiFA is entering a key industrial region characterized by strong innovation and production dynamics.

PiFA Strengthens Its Presence in Asia with Sandy Lin

Sandy Lin is Director of Global Business Development at Da Fon Environmental Technology, one of Taiwan’s largest recycling companies and a leading producer of rHDPE and rPP in Asia. She drives strategic partnerships, promotes the integration of high-performance recycled plastics into industrial applications, and combines industry expertise with modern communication strategies.
Commenting on her engagement with PiFA, she says: “The presence of Plastic is Fantastic in Asia is particularly important at this moment. Asia is one of the largest producers and users of plastics and one of the most dynamic regions in terms of material innovation, recycling infrastructure, and circular manufacturing.”
The expansion into Asia is part of PiFA’s global strategy. In North America, a cluster is already being successfully developed under the leadership of Tania Ferlin, Director of Sustainability Advocacy at Husky Technologies (Bolton, Ontario, Canada). Through its active presence in both regions, PiFA strengthens its network along key global industry hubs.
Dominic Fiel, Executive Director of PiFA, emphasizes: “Our goal is to place the global debate on plastics on a universally valid, scientific foundation. Innovation emerges from facts, technology, and collaboration – not from myths.”

Appearance at CHINAPLAS 2026

PiFA will present itself at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai, Austrian Pavilion, Hall 2.1, Booth 2.1C54 from April 21–24, 2026. At the booth, the mascot Captain Plasto will accompany discussions and exchanges with visitors.

Asia as a Strategic Key Region

Strengthening PiFA’s presence in Asia is strategically significant. It creates space for deeper collaboration, greater transparency, and knowledge sharing, while enabling a fact-based dialogue about the future of plastics in one of the world’s largest markets.
The Association holds that the further development of the plastics system can only succeed through cooperation across the entire value chain. With its presence in North America and Asia, PiFA is establishing itself as an international platform for fact-based information, technological innovation, and constructive dialogue about plastics.
