The report highlights how OCS is advancing resin loss prevention across more than 65 countries, ranging from growth in indus- try participation to increases in program rigor and transparency through data reporting and ex- ternal inspections. Notably, more than 200 external inspections were conducted by independent inspectors globally in 2024, verify - ing that strategies to prevent loss of pellets, flake, and powder to the environment were successfully implemented at the facility-level. “Operation Clean Sweep® con - tinues to expand across the globe, now in over 65 countries, show- ing the plastics industry’s com- mitment to keep preproduction plastic out of the environment,” said PLASTICS President and CEO Matt Seaholm. “This year’s report demonstrates that commitment through real progress—over 200 external inspections conducted in 2024 globally. With growing in - dustry participation and increased transparency through rigorous data reporting and third-party en- gagement, OCS is driving meaning - ful improvements in resin loss pre- vention worldwide.” “Operation Clean Sweep® is proof that when the entire plastics value chain works together, we can drive real environmental results. This year’s report highlights how collaboration, transparency, and in- novation are helping prevent resin loss and move us closer to a circular economy," said Ross Eisenberg, Vice President, Plastics Division, Ameri- can Chemistry Council. Highlights from the 2024 OCS Global Impact Report include: • More than 60% of U.S. plastic resin production capacity is at an OCS member facility. • OCS Logistics and OCS Rail were launched to provide tailored sup- port for critical supply chain part- ners, including trucking companies, railroads, distributors, and service providers. • U.S.-based OCS members trained more than 20,000 workers on the im- portance of zero plastic resin loss and strategies for resin loss prevention. • The U.S. data reporting program also increased its rigor by shifting from annual to quarterly report- ing, enhancing transparency and accountability across participating facilities.
