Extrusion International 5-2026
52 Extrusion International 5/2026 FAKUMA 2026 New Atmospheric Plasma Solutions at Fakuma Ferrarini & Benelli will be exhibiting at Fakuma, one of Europe’s leading events for plastics processing, bringing together professionals and companies active in injec- tion moulding, extrusion, thermoforming, raw materi- als, machinery, surface treatment and automation. At the show, Ferrarini & Benelli will present its latest innovations in atmospheric plasma treatment, a tech- nology designed to improve surface properties and en- hance adhesion in industrial processes. The solutions on display will include In Air Plasma, fea- turing a combination of nozzles for treatment distances of up to 40 mm, In Air Plasma Spark, designed for ap- plications with treatment distances of up to 80 mm, and In Air Plasma XL, designed for distances ranging from 25 to 70 mm. These technologies provide exible solutions for dif - ferent materials and process requirements, helping to improve adhesion, surface cleanliness and overall per- formance before subsequent processes such as bond- ing, printing, coating or painting. The company’s cobot (collaborative robot) will be showcased: the cobot is able to reproduce the speed and power conditions of any customer’s production line, in order to evaluate the best settings to achieve awless bonding. In our laboratory, we specialise in substrate testing and can customise our systems to t the customers’ requirements. The company will showcase exhibits aimed at higher process reliability, energy savings, and exibility. New extrex 6 EC Gear Pump for Rigid PVC Extrusion With the extrex 6 EC, MAAG pres- ents the first gear pump specifi- cally designed for the continuous conveying of rigid PVC (polyvinyl chloride). The new development addresses the thermal sensitivity of the material through a gap-free design without dead spaces. This effectively prevents the material from sticking and stagnating in the pump, which significantly re- duces thermal stress and counter- acts the risk of degradation. The uniform, pressure-stable con- veying relieves the extruder during operation. Depending on the ap- plication, this allows either material throughput to be increased or, at a constant throughput, energy sav- New extrex 6 EC for conveying rigid PVC
