In-Region Biphenol Supply Enhanced to Meet Rising Demand Across Asia-Paci c SI Group, a leading global develop- er and manufacturer of performance additives, process solutions, and chemical intermediates, and Shengx- iao Group, a global leader in liquid crystal polymer (LCP) monomers and specialty chemicals, announced the formation of a joint venture to accel- erate additional capacity of Biphenol in China. Based in Sichuan, China, Sheng- nova Advanced Materials combines Shengxiao Group’s established Biphe- nol manufacturing asset and regional market access with SI Group’s propri- etary technology and global Biphenol expertise. By bringing these capabili- ties together, the joint venture is de- signed to increase local supply of this unique molecule. Biphenol is an important monomer used in liquid crystal polymers (LCP), polyphenylenesulfone (PPSU), and other applications.
