12 Extrusion International 5/2021 INDUSTRY NEWS “SME Innovation Award” received „ SIKORA is one of the most innovative small and medium- sized enterprises (SME) in Germany 2021/2022, according to a survey conducted by the independent German Association for Consumer Studies (DtGV). This year, for the fi rst time, the German Association for Con- sumer Studies (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Verbraucherstudien, DtGV) is presenting the “SME Innovation Award 2021/2022” to small and medium-sized companies from Germany that demonstrate particularly high innovation potential in their segment and/or state. For the selection, the number of all pat- ent applications of German SMEs in 2020 was fi rst determined based on the Corporate Patent Classi fi cation (CPC) system. The basic parameter patent number was fi nally rounded off by the qualitative moment of the citation frequency and con- densed into a score value. SIKORA receives the award, as the company achieved a score value in the CPC main class “instru- ments”, which is among the top 10%of all examined SMEs. In the parallel federal state ranking SIKORA is furthermore listed among the top 3 companies from Bremen. Every year, SIKORA invests more than 10 percent of its turn- over in the research and development of new measuring and control technology as well as inspection, analysis and sorting systems for quality assurance during the production of wires and cables, hoses, tubes, pipes and sheets, glass fi bers or plastics.
