PVC sheet dies are characterised by their at design. These dies, speci cally designed for pipe multilayer applica - tions, feature a channel that is arranged in a cylindrical con guration, also known as a manifold. It is evident that all heads share similar ow channel geometries and characteristics. The root of the issue is invariably a PVC ow channel. The key bene t of this manifold system is that it allows for straightforward modi cation of the geometry in the event of unexpect - ed layer eccentricity. Each head is available with two or three extruders. Outlook The design and rheological specifications of PVC heads have remained unchanged for quite some time and are still based on the torpedo-tube head principle. The series presented here reects the current state of the art and, thanks to minor modi cations, promises excellent pipe quality. The smooth inner surfaces of the pipes – with no visible web markings – as well as the trouble-free startup and freezing process are particu- larly impressive in this context.
