Both shows have demonstrated their ability to bring together the manufacturing sectors around chemicals and plastics, supporting companies in making in- vestment decisions thanks to a representative commercial offering and spaces for knowledge sharing and exchange. All this in a context of industrial transformation that has fostered business and sector dialogue. Held simultaneously, the two fairs organised by Fira de Barcelona have brought together a total of 20,803 visitors, which represents an increase of 10% compared to the 2023 edition. The commercial offer of Expoquimia and Equiplast has grown by 35%, with nearly 800 exhibitors and more than 1,600 brands represented in halls 2 and 3 of the Gran Via venue. These gures reect the market's interest in moving towards more ef cient, innovative and responsible production models, as well as the dynamism of the chemi- cal and plastics industries, whose solutions are essential in most manufacturing processes. After four days of activity, most of the exhibitors and visitors have been satis ed with the development of the shows, highlighting the quality of the professional contacts generated. In this sense, the participants have endorsed the new positioning of Expoquimia that strengthens the connection between chemistry and industry, highlighting its transversal nature as a driver of competitiveness for mul- tiple sectors such as pharmaceuticals, automotive or pack- aging, among others. In the case of Equiplast, the presence of the entire plastic value chain has been valued, growing especially in the elds of recycling and the environment. Great activity tracking The programme of activities has been very well received. More than 200 have been held between the two shows, in- cluding conferences, round tables, presentations and other invited events, which have brought together more than 6,000 attendees. A participation that con rms the sector's interest in content related to sustainability, digitalisation, newmaterials and the technological evolution of industrial processes. According to the president of the Expoquimia Organis- ing Committee, Carles Navarro, "this edition has highlight- ed the importance of chemistry to help other sectors face the challenges in terms of sustainability and digitalisation without losing competitiveness". Navarro also stressed that "Expoquimia has consolidated its function as a space for meeting and reection at a decisive moment for indus - trial investment". For his part, the president of the Equiplast Organising Committee, Bernd Roegele, stressed that "Equiplast has once again demonstrated its strength as a trade show, with a transversal offer representative of the plastics value chain that responds to the real needs of the market, with a clear focus on circularity". The next joint edition of Expoquimia and Equiplast will take place in May 2029. www.equiplast.com
