Together with entrepreneur Eugen Hehl from family- owned ARBURG GmbH + Co KG, he established an event in the tri-border region at Lake Constance that would make economic history: Fakuma, a specialised trade fair for plastics pro- cessing. Launched in 1981 with 76 exhibitors, it evolved into a major international trade fair at a breathtaking pace. What was so special about it. Specialised suppliers measure themselves against each other! At the same time they em- brace a culture of exchange, competi- tion and cooperation. This provides us- ers with a comprehensive overview of the market. To this day, Fakuma in Friedrichs- hafen has retained its special character based on personal interaction, as well as professional standards and staging.
