GN Thermoforming boosts its presence in Southeast Asia

News 20.04.2017

GN Thermoforming Equipment, a top supplier of servodriven roll-fed thermoforming machines for food packaging industry, has expanded its contract with the agent Vulcan Plastics Technology Co. Ltd., to include the most important Southeast Asian markets. Based in Shenzhen Province, Vulcan, a leading local manufacturer of cutting dies and thermoforming molds, will sell GN's entire range of thermoforming machines not only in China and Taiwan but in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Jerome Romkey, GN's Business Development Manager, shared his excitement and confidence: "We look forward to broadening our presence in Southeast Asia. Vulcan has well-established relationships in the thermoforming industry and the necessary resources that will help us grow our position in that part of the world."

Under the new contract, Vulcan is hiring dedicated personnel for selling and servicing the GN's complete range of thermoforming machines, e.g. contact-heat and plug-assist machines. By late summer 2017, GN will supply the first demonstration machine to Vulcan for customer assessment, testing, and processing trials.

"We welcome this expanded arrangement and are very pleased to be the primary seller of GN's high-quality thermoforming machines in not only China/Taiwan but Southeast Asia. We look forward to leveraging our thermoforming customer base and enabling GN to penetrate new market opportunities," said Vulcan's owner Simon Teng.

Romkey says the time has come for an expanded agreement with Vulcan, since the demand from Asian processors for Western-made equipment has increased. Food packaging suppliers are exporting more and more beyond their domestic markets and thus require innovative equipment with more accurate quality control. "The demand for quality control is increasing dramatically and end users are looking for more reliable and consistent machinery," explained Romkey.
